Omari Bennett is the founder and CEO of The Bennett Group, a private investment and production company founded in June 2017.
He was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., with familial roots in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. He produced his first event at 12 years old in his parents’ living room, displaying at an early age a love for creating memorable experiences for his friends and family. He continued hosting events through high school and college, producing some of the largest events on campus for his school activities board and campus organizations. Omari attended South Carolina State University, majoring in Business Management and graduating Magna cum Laude in 2014. During his time at SCSU, he was the Vice Chairman of the Business Student Council, also holding board positions on the NAACP, Pre-Alumni Council and campus activity board organizations. He also was a member of the university’s Men’s Basketball team, as a player in 2012-2013 and as an assistant coach for the 2013-2014 season.
Omari developed his love for investing as a child, selling water on Brooklyn corners as a child to raise money for school supplies. He cultivated this passion for investing during his time at J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management, spending over 5 years across private banking and fiduciary risk management, He currently sits as a risk management consultant in the retail investments division of Citi’s Global Consumer Bank.
Omari is a pianist and organist, an entrepreneur, social media influencer and mentor. His current personal goal is to travel to 30 countries before he reaches 30 years old. He enjoys traveling, sports, food, and fellowship with his friends and family.
